Despite challenging economic times, funding uncertainties and increased competition for grant and corporate support, HomeSafe is proud of its proactive financial stewardship as it carefully manages every dollar raised and ensures funds are spent in a responsible, efficient manner.

With the ever-growing demand for HomeSafe services, endowments have become an important resource to make certain that programs are adequately funded to help victims of child abuse and domestic violence.

HomeSafe’s goal is increase the size of its endowment to 16 million dollars by 2015. This will allow HomeSafe to attain overall organizational sustainability and increased self-sufficiency. By realizing its endowment goal, HomeSafe will generate investment earnings to support annual program operations and further reduce its reliance on annual fund gifts. HomeSafe will then be able to direct a greater share of its annual fund gifts towards implementing additional innovative, research-based initiatives that reduce and prevent child abuse and domestic violence.

Endowment gifts from donors are wisely invested to provide income for annual operations. In anticipation of fluctuating market conditions over the short and long term – and in accordance with HomeSafe’s major benefactors’ wishes – the endowment spending policy is designed to protect the value of the original gift while honoring each donor’s instructions how endowment investment income generated should be used.

In addition to customized endowment pledges, HomeSafe supporters can select pre-arranged endowment pledges that can be made over a specified period of time. HomeSafe’s endowment plans are convenient and budget friendly, with contributions able to be automatically transferred to HomeSafe from donors’ financial institutions.
