Developmental Support Specialist

HomeSafe has an exciting career opportunity for experienced a Developmental Support Specialist in our HEALTHLY BEGINNINGS program. 

The Developmental Support Specialist is responsible for coordinating family services for assigned clients in the Healthy Beginnings system of care. Responsibilities include screening and assessment to determine program eligibility; parental education and developmental monitoring, system navigation; maintaining relationships with assigned children and their families and providing referrals and linkages for families with children from birth until age two (2) within Palm Beach County. 

This position requires flexibility with daytime and evening hours as needed to accommodate client schedules.

A Bachelor’s degree in Human Services (preferably in a field such as social work, developmental psychology, and / or childhood education) is required.  A minimum of two (2) years in child welfare, primary prevention services, child development or related field.  A valid Florida driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable insured vehicle required.  Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Proficiency in database programs; Knowledge, skills and ability requirements include: excellent knowledge of child development and early childhood education; excellent assessment skills for children up to age 2; excellent problem solving skills; and excellent verbal, written public speaking and presentation skills.

Bilingual Spanish/English required.
