Elizabeth and her three children are survivors of domestic violence who endured years of physical, emotional, and financial abuse. After a violent incident in 2024, Elizabeth bravely called 911, leading to her abuser’s arrest and removal from the home. Despite this, she faced overwhelming responsibility for her household—working 18-hour days and caring for her children and sister, while managing limited resources and covering mounting bills.
Through HomeSafe’s SafetyNet program, Elizabeth and her children engage in psychoeducational group therapy and individual therapy, providing a safe space to process trauma, build coping skills, and strengthen resilience. These services have helped Elizabeth navigate the complexities of leaving her abuser, manage stress, and regain a sense of control over her life.
Recognizing her courage, HomeSafe nominated Elizabeth for The Palm Beach Post’s Season to Share initiative, through which community donations will soon help cover urgent expenses, including her mortgage and car payments. This support will be life-changing, allowing her to continue rebuilding a safe, stable, and hopeful future for her family.
